ALL OF OUR RENOVATIONS ARE COMPLETE!! After months of hard work the crew from Southeastern Golf completed the bunker renovation at the end of April. Combined wih the fairway conversion being completed last summer we have made some great improvements. Come out and see for yourself! Bunker Renovation
Near the end of 2018 we began a complete bunker renovation. This was very necessary as the liner had become compromised on most of the bunkers. Because of that the bunkers would wash out and fill with water during heavy rain storms, and we definitely get our share of those around here!
With the direction of Nicklaus Design Architect Chad Goetz, and Southeastern Golf we have transformed the bunkers and improved the overall aesthitics and playability.
Below is a collage of the firway bunkers from hole 18 fairways, the top pic is before and bottom after.
Such a tremendous improvement! (please excuse the dirt portion in the bottom left picture, that became fairway and wasn't sodded yet)
We will post more before and afters soon so you can see all the improvement that was made!
Fairway Grass Conversion
Prior to doing the bunker renovation we converted our fairways from Bent Grass to Latitude 36 Bermuda. This was done for a number of reasons, primary reason being playability in season and aesthetics during the hottest part of the year. We began the conversion at the end of June of 2018 and completed it and reopened Labor Day weekend. Even with all the rain that was received from the end of July through August the re-grass went very well. The golfers were very complimenary of the playing surface in the fall and as things warm up this spring the fairways are waking up and looking really good!
Below is a picture during the spriging process. In just 8 short weeks this went from dirt to green!
We hope to see you out here soon enjoying the NEW Potomac Shores Golf Club!
